Our office is not your typical chiropractic office.
We focus on treating the soft tissues (muscle, tendon, ligament, nerve) that contribute to pain, not just the joint component.
Although bones can sometimes be misaligned or even fractured, the most commonly injured structures are the soft tissues. Tendons attach muscles to bones, and ligaments attach one bone to another. When these injuries happen, the body's natural way to deal with soft tissue injuries is to lay down scar tissue (adhesion) and adhere soft tissue structures together thus creating more load for other structures. This creates more dysfunction, injury, weakness and scar tissue to form until the body has no other structures to load and starts to produce pain.
We treat a wide variety of pain conditions (see what hurts section). If you can’t find any information related to your pain on our website, please contact our office by clicking the link below. Scar tissue can form in muscles without injury and can cause pain in many different areas.
Dr. Lambert has been certified in soft tissue treatment techniques for over 20 years. He utilizes his knowledge in soft tissue treatment to treat soft tissue injuries, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and even nerve entrapment. He is also one of the only doctors specializing in soft tissue treatment and biomechanical assessment in Michigan.
Many of our patients come to see our office to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, or neck pain. While our providers will address each patient's specific condition, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health issue
At Discover Soft Tissue + Spine, we create a program designed to teach our patients how to perform specific exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your care and correction plan. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced provider will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.
Spinal Adjustments
· A chiropractic adjustment is the art of applying a specific force in a specific direction to a joint that is subluxated, “locked up,” or not moving properly.
· The purpose of the adjustment is to eliminate nervous system interference and improve spinal function. Chiropractic adjustments can be delivered by hand or by using instruments such as an Activator.
· Adjustments may produce a sound, “crack” or “pop,” that is similar to cracking a knuckle. This sound is caused by gas escaping from the fluid surrounding the joint when the joint is slightly separated. The sound is painless and totally harmless.
· Adjustments shouldn’t be painful, however, you may feel some discomfort until the pressure from the joint is relieved. The spinal adjustments given at Discover Soft Tissue and Spine are specifically designed for the individual patient’s comfort, tolerance, and safety. Dr. Lambert offers a variety of adjusting methods to provide you with a comfortable and pleasant chiropractic experience.

Back pain is one of the most common conditions in adult life and one of the leading causes of physician visits. 80% of the adult population will deal with low back pain at some point in their lifetime. The most common cause of back pain and stiffness is from fibrous adhesion. Although fibrous adhesion is extremely common it is often misdiagnosed. This leads to health care providers commonly prescribing things such as manipulation, taping, stretching and exercises that do not affect adhesion. Unless treated properly by an expert, adhesion can eventually lead to other problems down the road such as lumbar disc problems, low back muscle spasms and early onset spinal degeneration and chronic pain.

Fibrous muscle adhesion or scar tissue in the muscles is the most common source of pain, weakness, and limited motion in the human body. It is unfortunately also the most under-diagnosed problem in the musculo-skeletal system. With expert treatment, fibrous muscle adhesion (scar tissue in the muscles) can be reversed.
There are many areas in the body where nerves have to pass through or in between adjacent structures. There are many areas in the body where nerves have to pass through or in between adjacent structures. Since muscles are always expanding and contracting to allow movement, the nerves utilize slippery sheaths to guide them through these muscles. When damage occurs to these nerves and protective sheaths, fibrous adhesion (scar tissue) is laid down to repair the damage causing the muscles to adhere to the nerve like an area of glue. This area of glue is called an adhesion and can often cause tightness, numbness, tingling, and weakness.
