Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy

Discover Soft Tissue + Spine, P.C.

Effective date and last updated: August 30, 2026
Website: discoversofttissue.com

1. Purpose and Scope

This Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy explains how Discover Soft Tissue + Spine, P.C. (“Discover Soft Tissue + Spine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on discoversofttissue.com (the “Website”). It also explains the choices available to Website visitors.

This policy should be read together with our Website Privacy Policy and our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. A Website cookie choice is not a HIPAA authorization and does not authorize the use or disclosure of protected health information (PHI).

2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser on a computer, phone, tablet, or other device. Websites may also use local storage, scripts, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate, secure, measure, or improve a website. In this policy, we refer to these collectively as “cookies and tracking technologies.”

Some technologies are necessary for the Website to function. Others are optional and are used only after a visitor permits optional tracking, subject to the technical operation of the Website platform and external services described below.

3. Technologies Used on This Website

Necessary Website Technologies

GoDaddy hosts and operates the Website Builder platform used for this Website. Necessary technologies may be used to deliver pages, maintain security, prevent abuse, manage traffic, support basic Website functions, and remember a visitor’s cookie choice. These technologies cannot always be disabled through the Website banner because they are required to provide the Website or preserve a visitor’s privacy selection.

GoDaddy states that Websites + Marketing products automatically collect anonymous site-visit information and may process technical information and server logs in the United States. These activities are separate from optional behavioral tracking and are governed by GoDaddy’s applicable privacy practices.

Optional Analytics Technologies

If a visitor selects “Allow Optional Tracking,” GoDaddy Advanced Tracking may use cookies or identifiers to help us understand Website traffic, page use, interactions, and technical performance, such as page-loading speed. We use the resulting information to evaluate whether the Website is useful, improve navigation and content, and identify general performance problems.

Our intended use is limited to aggregate or anonymized Website insights. We do not use optional analytics to identify a particular patient, determine a person’s medical condition, or make clinical, eligibility, payment, or treatment decisions.

If a visitor selects “Decline Optional Tracking,” closes or dismisses the banner, or uses a browser privacy signal recognized by the platform, GoDaddy is configured not to enable optional behavioral and third-party tracking through its cookie-consent function.

Advertising and Retargeting

As of the effective date of this policy, the Website does not use Google Analytics or the Meta/Facebook Pixel, and we do not use Website cookies to retarget visitors with advertisements based on the healthcare pages they view. We do not sell personal information or PHI, and we do not disclose health information to advertising platforms for behavioral advertising.

If we materially change our analytics or advertising practices, we will evaluate the privacy and healthcare-compliance implications, update this policy and the Website Privacy Policy, and update the Website’s consent controls before enabling the new technology.

4. Embedded Content and External Services

Some Website pages contain embedded content or links provided by other companies. When embedded content loads, or when a visitor follows an external link, the visitor’s browser may connect directly to that company. The company may receive technical information such as an IP address, browser or device information, the referring page, and information about the visitor’s interaction. It may also use cookies under its own policies.

The GoDaddy cookie banner may not control every technical request or cookie created by embedded content or by a separate website after a visitor leaves discoversofttissue.com. Visitors should review the relevant provider’s privacy and cookie information.

Vimeo

The Website may display video content delivered through Vimeo. Vimeo’s use of cookies and related technologies is described in its Privacy Policy.

Google Maps and Directions

The Website may display a map or provide links to Google Maps. Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Paubox Secure Forms

New-patient and general-contact forms open on a separate Paubox website. Information entered there is governed by the clinic’s agreement with Paubox and Paubox’s Privacy Policy.

Other External Links

Links to social media, review sites, videos, or other external websites take visitors to services that operate under their own privacy and cookie practices. We do not control cookies placed by those services after a visitor follows a link.

5. Health Information and HIPAA

Our Website cookies and analytics are not intended to collect a visitor’s name, contact information, symptoms, appointment details, medical-record information, insurance information, or other PHI. Visitors should not submit private medical information through ordinary Website features, standard email, social media, or analytics-enabled pages.

When a visitor wants to send health-related or new-patient information, the visitor should use the secure Paubox form linked from the Website or contact the office using an approved communication method. Information submitted through the clinic’s secure systems is handled under applicable privacy and security requirements, our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, and applicable business associate agreements.

Selecting “Allow Optional Tracking” is permission for optional Website analytics only. It is not an authorization to use or disclose PHI and will not be treated as one.

6. Your Cookie Choices

When the Website’s cookie banner appears, visitors may choose:

Allow Optional Tracking. This permits optional analytics and related tracking enabled through GoDaddy’s consent controls.

Decline Optional Tracking. This allows the visitor to continue using the Website without enabling optional behavioral tracking through GoDaddy’s consent controls.

Declining optional tracking does not prevent access to the Website’s general information. Some embedded or external features may still make necessary technical connections or may be unavailable if the visitor blocks all cookies or third-party content.

GoDaddy generally stores the visitor’s consent selection in a first-party preference cookie for approximately 60 days. Platform behavior and retention may change. To change a prior selection before the banner appears again, clear cookies or site data for discoversofttissue.com and reload the Website. Browser settings may also be used to delete or block cookies. Blocking all cookies may affect certain Website functions.

Where recognized by the Website platform and required by applicable law, browser-based universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, may also be honored.

7. Information, Reports, and Retention

We may receive aggregate Website reports such as total visits, general page-use patterns, referral information, device categories, approximate geographic information, and performance measurements. We use these reports to maintain and improve the Website. We do not use these reports as part of a patient’s clinical record.

Website-platform providers and external services determine how long they retain technical information under their own contracts, settings, legal obligations, and privacy policies. We do not promise that analytics or server data is automatically deleted immediately after statistical analysis. We retain reports available to us only for legitimate operational, security, compliance, and Website-improvement purposes.

8. Children

The Website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly use Website cookies to collect personal information from children under 13 for advertising or profiling.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our Website technology, vendors, practices, or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective or last-updated date. Material changes to optional tracking will be reflected in the Website’s consent controls when appropriate.
